I Kick Shins kanekalon jumbo braid is available in three different styles:
Original: Our original line of kk jumbo braid (in the black packaging) is not pre-stretched and has a fairly tight crimp to it. It was designed for dread-making, so it bunches up a bit when sealed. For best results with braids, you'll want to braid all the way down to the ends without any loose bits, or hold the loose ends straight when dipping. It comes in 100g packs, which is a little bit fuller than average.
Please note that this hair is not hypoallergenic. We recommend doing an ACV rinse before installing to remove the alkaline lye coating on the fiber.
Our manufacturer for this hair has gotten a bit inconsistent over the years; some batches come in shinier than others, and sometimes colors change slightly (darker or lighter, more or less vibrant, etc). Make sure to check the description and pictures before ordering if you're looking to match hair you purchased previously to ensure that it hasn't changed.
Pre-Stretched 26": This hair is pre-stretched, has a more moderate crimp to it that's fairly similar to Amazon 3X. It comes in 90g packs. This hair does not have an alkaline lye coating on it, but if you've got a sensitive scalp, it never hurts to do an ACV rinse just in case!
Pre-Stretched 28" Ultra: This hair is pre-stretched, has more of a traditional jumbo braid texture compared to the 26" hair, but is not as kinky as the regular kk jumbo braid. It comes in 85g packs. This hair also does not have an alkaline lye coating on it.
