How to Make Transitional Dreads (blended)
This tutorial explains how to make transitional dreads that begin as one solid color and end in another solid color. However, you can also use this method to make transitionals with more than two colors -- just adjust the amounts of hair for each color, and trim them according to where you want them to show in the dread.

What You will Need
- Kanekalon jumbo braid - available here!
- A comb or backcombing brush - available here!
- A steamer or a kettle for boiling water

Instructions
1. Decide which color you want to be at the bottom of the transitional and section off a piece that's about 50% less than what you would use for a regular solid dread.

2. Now section off the same amount of hair for the top color, and trim it a few inches shorter than the length you want the finished dread to be.

3. Blend the hair together and make sure that the lengths of the two colors stay even during the process; click here for our blending tutorial! :)

4. Backcomb the dread as normal.

5. Now it's time to seal, so break out your kettle or your steamer.

6. Seal the ends, and then you're done!
