How to Make Striped Dreads
This tutorial uses a variation on the wrapped transitional tutorial to make dreads that have horizonatal stripes. This tutorial shows stripes made from two alternating colors, but you can use this method for more than that -- it looks particularly striking if you do a striped rainbow!

What You will Need
- Kanekalon jumbo braid - available here!
- A comb or backcombing brush - available here!
- A steamer or a kettle for boiling water

Instructions
1. Section off equal parts of your two colors.

2. Backcomb both colors separately, the same as you would do when making a swirled dread.

3. Now it's time to seal, so break out your kettle or your steamer. Wrap one color around the other for a few inches, taking care to completely cover up the unused color. Seal this section before moving on.

4. Once the first stripe is sealed, wrap the second color and seal. Repeat steps 3 and 4 down the length of the dread.

5. We recommend giving the entire dread one more seal after all of the stripes are finished to ensure that it's nice and secure.

6. Seal the ends, and then you're done!
